    Your phone will tell you in about ten seconds. Worth doing — iPhone models look alike, and cases are cut to the millimetre.

    01 Open Settings on your iPhone
    02 Tap General, then About
    03 Read the line marked Model Name — that's what you order

    Model Name, not Model Number. The line underneath shows something like MTQE3X/A — that's a manufacturing code and it won't help you choose a case.
    Same year doesn't mean same size. An iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Air and 17 Pro Max are four different bodies with four different camera layouts. A case made for one will not fit the others, even though the names look almost identical.
    Buying for someone else? If you can't get to their phone, the model is printed on the original box, or on the receipt from their carrier or the Apple Store.
    And if you do get it wrong, we'll sort it out.
